Case Study - Healthcare

U.S. Veteran's Administration

4tell™ completed a comprehensive energy assessment, analysis and technology solution for 21 major health care facilities operated by the U.S. Veterans Administration (VA).    The project portfolio consisted of 600+ buildings comprising in excess of 15 million square feet. These facilities are located in nine states throughout the eastern United States.

In conjunction with completing the onsite energy assessment process, iPlan™ Energy Governance solution was implemented for this project to support its energy retrofit analysis and reporting requirements. Built-in energy performance data analysis and KPIs, energy auditing, building systems engineering algorithms, and building lifecycle cost models form the foundation for improving the energy, environmental, and financial performance of buildings. iPlan™ Energy helps reduce the risks of maintaining fiscally and environmentally responsible facility operations and capital budgeting. As a result of the iPlan™ implementation, the VA has:

  • Streamlined and automated energy engineering business processes and analytic models
  • Implemented industry standard for facilities indexing, energy project costing and weather data
  • Interfaced with energy data in multiple formats (i.e., data entry, electronic import, dynamic integration, etc.)
  • Developed KPIs and benchmarking for performance management, regulatory compliance and reporting
  • Deployed a sustainability reporting portal to support stakeholder reporting and analysis requirements.
